GamestormVR launched a Kickstarter campaign for SteamHammerVR, a beautifully designed, steampunk-themed, story-based, smash ’em up Virtual Reality gaming experience that has been Greenlit on Steam Greenlight. The team currently plans to launch a demo of the game this month, July 2016.

SteamHammerVR takes you to the steampunk world of Victorian London, 1892. The dastardly Professor Rattwurm is attempting to enslave the fine English folk with his army of clockwork rodents. Using this new-fangled steam power and the technical expertise of Doctor Obadiah Springhorn you are armed with the latest gizmo for bashing robot rats – The Steam Hammer exo-suit!
Players can choose Steam Hammer weapons for both hands. Options available include the Steam Hammer, Steam Cannon, Magnet Beam, Rotor Hammer, Rotor Saw, and Tesla Ray. The game features quite the engaging storyline and characters that immerse you in 19th century Steampunk Victorian London. Explore many areas, including the streets, to the sewers, from the Tower of London to the banks of the River Thames while completing your missions.

GamestormVR has turned to the Kickstarter community to raise money for this game because they want to create one of the most epic VR experiences of 2016. The team wants to involve the gaming community in SteamHammerVR’s development, and they are even giving players the chance to be immortalized in the game! If this crowdfunding campaign goes well, GamestormVR would like to build a version of SteamHammerVR for both PlaystationVR and the Oculus Rift.
“It is a dream becoming reality seeing your ideas on paper brought to life in VR, truly magical,” says ‘Magic’ Martin Rowe, the project’s Artistic Director, “The funding raised will not only be used to enhance and expand the world of SteamHammerVR but will also allow us to attend as many gaming conventions as possible between now and the official launch in December 2016. We want to bring SteamHammerVR to as many people as we can.”
In exchange for pledging to the project, backers can gain access to a variety of rewards including a credit in the end titles for £5, a Founders Edition of the full SteamHammerVR game for £15, and more. Plymouth, MI. – June 30, 2016 – Stardock has released the Turtle Wars DLC for Ashes of the Singularity. With new single player scenarios focused around the player building up defenses against seemingly impossible odds and additional new maps to keep multiplayer matches fresh, this update brings challenges for players of all levels.
The Turtle Wars DLC pack contains scenarios such as “Implosion”, “Mountaintop”, and more, plus new maps that offer a wider array of options for multiplayer matches.
“Our goal is to continue to create a variety of maps with open possibilities,” said CEO and President of Stardock, Brad Wardell. “Some of these new maps are ideal for things like a 2v1 match, even a 4v1. We’ve also made sure to include a large-sized 1v1 skirmish map, which will encourage players to build much bigger armies for more epic battles.”
The new scenarios in Turtle Wars bring the focus to having the player build up and maintain their defenses against mounting enemy pressure. In the “Eruption” scenario, the player has the command of a single Hyperion Dreadnought and a handful of defensive structures and must somehow hold out against enemy siege while trying to turn the tides of battle.
In another scenario, “Turtle Wars,” the player is faced with several indestructible factories that are mass producing swarms of frigates. In order to win, they must hold off against the enemy and take control of the factories before the rest of the army makes it through the mountains to finish them off. Kinda cool, huh?
“These new scenarios add a different type of challenge and call upon a certain playstyle,” said Wardell. “We know that players will enjoy trying something new and then comparing their scenario scores against others’ in our Hall of Fame.”

Father Son Gaming Tradition
Every Father’s day in this house, My son and I play a 90s Playstation game called ‘Twisted Metal 2’. Ken ususally wins 90% of the games we play. In my opinion no Twisted Metal after that came close to the fun, feel, and replayability of TM2. If you can play for hours and not know where time goes, well, that’s the mark of a classic game.

Ever Play Garry’s Mod on Steam? Hands down that is my Favorite Steam title. From Garry’s Mod.com: Garry’s Mod is a Sandbox Game based around the idea of building. Unlike most other games there aren’t any objectives – you can’t lose and you definitely can’t win. That is the beauty of it. Building is quite popular, I’ve always enjoyed the many new Maps and NPCs (Non-Player-Characters) that the Mod community churns out on an almost daily basis. More fun than should be allowed by law.
I could go on forever. My son and I play together on occasion.

The Steam Greenlight process for this game is now live – in time for Father’s Day
The platformer from publisher Excalibur Games has a truly unique game mechanic and brings a new meaning to parenting. The highly anticipated game is from indie developers Sundae Month – Excalibur’s latest signing. Sundae Month have published free to play games on their own website in recent years and are ready to take the step into the world of paid-for publishing. It is expected that following considerable interest in this title that the Greenlight process will be lit in a couple of weeks and then the product will progress smoothly into the Early Access programme in late September.
The storyline of this action-adventure platformer (with some RPG elements) follows the objective of raising your child whilst on a journey to the legendary Dad Island. The process of child-rearing in Dad Quest uses your child as an effective weapon who, when being tossed through the air, can defeat enemy “Bad Dads” and collect treasures along the way to improve their development.
