Star Trek Discovery

Star Trek Discovery

I have to admit that I was not a fan of Star Trek Discovery in the beginning. I saw some inconsistencies in the timeline, like Tribbles, site to site transport, and Klingons that don’t look like Klingons, at least not how I know them. At first glance it looks like a JJ Abrams type reboot, which at first, caused me to take pause.

There has been some mention, I’ve been reading other people’s opinions and things, that the Captain is unethical, Starfleet’s FIRST unethical Captain.

Captains

I disagree with that assessment. Captains Kirk, Picard in addition to Sisko, Janeway and Archer were all mentioned as exceptional captains. That leads me to believe that a lot of not so exceptional captains exist. The Captain of Discovery is one of those slightly unethical captains but he’s getting the job done, living on the edge. Starfleet needs people like that. The show continues to grow on me. It didn’t grow on me first. I see a lot of Discovery bashing, saying it is looking like the JJ universe along with other such things but no, I think the show will do well.

In Conclusion, There’s room for Discovery. All these people that are crying foul that it looks like JJ or it looks like something just not Star Trek, keep an open mind. Many people like ‘The Orville’ which, I love that show, as well as Discovery. I’m very interested to see how Star Trek Discovery plays out. I read that it’s going to be leading up to TOS. The Spore drive may develop a flaw which renders it useless, one of the things leading up to TOS. I say give this thing a chance, let it go.

Side note: The Harry Mudd character was done well, I thought.

The original Call of Duty was released in 2003, set in the middle of the most brutal conflict in human history. The debut game spawned one of the most popular franchises in history, which has taken players across multiple theaters and through different eras, and today we are proud to announce that Call of Duty is returning to its World War II roots with Call of Duty: WWII

Developed by Infinity Ward, this is the game that started it all. Ambitiously focusing on the importance of an entire squad of soldiers, Call of Duty’s slogan was “In war, no one fights alone.” Throughout the game, players fight alongside their fellow soldiers across the backdrop of some of the most well-known engagements at D-Day and beyond.

Sea Of Thieves: Make yourself heard on the storm-struck seas

Rare’s shared world pirate romp Sea of Thieves is coming to Xbox One and Windows 10 PC in early 2018, and this final stretch of pre-launch development sees a wealth of new features falling into place.

The latest reveal in Rare’s regular video exposés is the non-verbal communication system. There is still an emphasis on the importance of voice chat. However, the ability to use non-verbal comms means that players who are unable to (or choose not to) use a microphone can still contribute as well as communicate effectively. This happens as they hit the seas in search of buried gold, uncharted lands or unpredictable encounters with other crews. Key phrases in non-verbal comms also have the bonus of automatic translation to crewmates from different countries!

In the video below, Community Video Manager Jon McFarlane goes behind the scenes in one of Rare’s development barns to sit with Senior Designer Andrew Preston for a demo of this still-evolving system.

Many additions will be made available soon to players in the Sea of Thieves Technical Alpha. Sign up to the Insider Programme for a chance to play in these sessions ahead of the game’s early 2018 launch: https://www.seaofthieves.com/insider
