From driving accidents to distracted pedestrians and dangerous trespassing incidents, the phenomenal success of Nintendo’s “Pokemon Go” game is fueling growing fears for public safety.
So if you are a sports fan like I am, there have been many story lines you have been following through the end of spring into summer (NBA finals, professional golf, MLB ect ect). Since there is so much to go over let’s just latch onto the story that got me out of bed early in the morning on my day off… Kevin Durant and his adventures in free agency. So first and foremost I think he did it like a BALLER, inviting the interested teams to come speak to him while he was enjoying the off-season… in the Hamptons! It was saying “if you want to hire me, you need to come show me why working for you is better than anywhere else… oh and I’m not going to interrupt my relaxation anymore than I have to.” I love it! So each potential team came with their A-game presentations to try and sway arguably the second best playing in the league (top 3 at least) to pick their city and their team. Oklahoma City, the team he has played for since the teams inception, felt strong knowing the kind of man Kevin Durant is. He has laid the foundation for basketball in that town, being one of the biggest stars in the world for the only professional sports team there, and being inducted to the Oklahoma hall of fame not too long ago.
They also have his good friend and ultra-talented Russell Westbrook who together with Durant played out of his mind this year… especially during their deep playoff run. So things looked good for them to keep him, sign him to a one or two year deal then when the salary cap moves up next year structure a deal that no team could match money-wise. But all along Kevin said this was going to be a basketball decision. Teams like Miami, Boston, and the Clippers all offered some great options. Pat Riley probably laid his rings on the table, told him to look at what he did for D-Wade and LeBron… come win titles and party in South Beach! The Celtics signed Al Horford, one of the best power forwards in the game, have a wealth of cap space/draft picks and a great young coach to build the team just how KD would want. LA flashed him the idea of playing with basically some of the most talented and popular players in the league and build their own Fab Four. With that being said… there’s Golden State.
Let’s cut to the chase… KD is going to be a Warrior next season, and the thought is absolutely ridiculous. With Durant, Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green, Dub City will have four of the NBA’s top 20 (if not 15) players. Think about that… that means each one of those guys is better than the best player on just about half of the teams in the league! So we all know the Warriors score like no one else in the history of the league… so you might think “how will Durant fit in that lineup?” He is a premier shooter, he can pass, he is a rebounder, he can finish in the paint, oh and he is also one of the most prolific scorers in the league that had to play along side one of the most ball-in-hand players in the league (Westbrook) for years. I think he will do just fine. So strap on your seat belts folks… next season should be a wild one!
SQUARE ENIX COLLECTIVE HAS HELPED TO RAISE OVER $1,000,000 USD FOR INDIE DEVELOPERS THUS FAR
LONDON, July 13: Square Enix Collective™, the indie-support and publishing initiative from Square Enix®, is celebrating a major milestone today as the total money raised via crowdfunding by teams assisted by Collective has now surpassed the $1,000,000 USD mark.
With the exception of last month’s successful Fear Effect Sedna™ campaign, all of the projects supported were based on original IP, from small teams around the world.
Since 2014, Square Enix Collective has assisted about 100 developers build awareness and collect feedback via the Collective website, and some of those projects have been successfully crowdfunded as a result.
2016 brings the first games to be published by Square Enix Collective, with upcoming E3 hits The Turing Test™ (August 2016) and Black The Fall™ (Late 2016) joining the platform’s first release, Goetia, which enjoys a 98% positive rating on Steam and a Metacritic rating of 82 at the time of writing.
With the idea of publishing up to ten games per year, Square Enix Collective enables developers to retain all rights to any original IP, as well as creative control and the majority of net revenue.
Later this year, similar to Fear Effect, Square Enix Collective plans to open up further selected Eidos® IP for developers to pitch for as a means of helping them generate greater awareness.
Meanwhile, every project that is supported through crowdfunding by Square Enix Collective undergoes a Team Assessment to check on the development team’s experience, capabilities, and planning.
“The data clearly shows that new teams with their own projects are finding it increasingly challenging to build awareness for their games, and even harder to raise meaningful amounts via crowdfunding,” said Phil Elliott, creator and project lead on Square Enix Collective.
“We’re delighted to have been able to use our Team Assessments to help build greater trust between blossoming talent and forward-thinking gamers, as well as open up our channels to spread the word and help drive interest.”
Square Enix Collective was first announced in 2013 and fully launched in 2014. Since then, it has posted almost 100 pitches on the Collective website, helped teams raise over $1,000,000 USD via Kickstarter, and signed a number of teams to investment and/or publishing deals.

There’s a search for the most highly anticipated upcoming massively multiplayer online roleplaying game (MMORPG) that continues as the best MMORPG 2017 list is launched.
TORRANCE, CA, USA, Earlier this year /EINPresswire.com/ — Bestmmorpg2017.net, a game website which was created for the purpose of reviewing online games, unveils the list of the most popular and highly anticipated massive multiplayer online role playing games (MMORPGs) that will be released in the year 2017.
The website has published the Best MMORPG 2017 list with links and mini-reviews of each title. The games are grouped into several categories such as free to play, browser-based, buy to play or no subscription, pay to play (subscription), and upcoming MMORPGs 2017.
With the seemingly endless number of available online games, searching for the best game can be a problem for many players. Best MMORPG 2017, however, provide a means of solving this problem by publishing the list of highly recommended MMORPG games helps players easily find the most popular titles.
“I think that next year will undoubtedly be a very interesting year for MMO games. There are quite a few innovative indie games that will be launching and I look forward to playing them all,” said Olivia Morin, editor of Bestmmorpg2017.net. “Currently, we have a total of eleven games that we recommend but please bear in mind that the wbesite is in its pre-launch stage. We will be adding more and changing the list constantly as we strive to keep it updated and relevant.”
Morin added that apart from graphics and gameplay, players also tend to favor the MMORPGs that have fast-paced action combat, large-scale open-world PvP (player vs player) and PvE (player vs environment) battles, crafting, dynamic environments, epic story quests, and sandbox features.
“In terms of playbility, all of the featured MMORPGs are different and unique. There’s everything from PvP-focused indie games to big-budget AAA releases. Just the same old MMO gameplay features won’t hack it these days because of increased competition from other online games. Each of these games appeal to a specific type of player such as the ones are nostagic for old school MMORPGs or those who want a sandbox game with a player-controlled economy,” said Morin.
Ashes of the Singularity Turtle Wars DLC Adds New Scenarios, Maps, and More. This is a press release with a few Chris Jones additions!
Planetary Warfare on a Massive Scale!
IGN Says: “One of those games that comes along every few years and slaps us in the face to remind us what the word “strategy” means.”
Plymouth, MI. – June 30, 2016 – Stardock has released the Turtle Wars DLC for Ashes of the Singularity. With new single player scenarios focused around the player building up defenses against seemingly impossible odds and additional new maps to keep multiplayer matches fresh, this update brings challenges for players of all levels.
The Turtle Wars DLC pack contains scenarios such as “Implosion”, “Mountaintop”, and more, plus new maps that offer a wider array of options for multiplayer matches.
“Our goal is to continue to create a variety of maps with open possibilities,” said CEO and President of Stardock, Brad Wardell. “Some of these new maps are ideal for things like a 2v1 match, even a 4v1. We’ve also made sure to include a large-sized 1v1 skirmish map, which will encourage players to build much bigger armies for more epic battles.”
The new scenarios in Turtle Wars bring the focus to having the player build up and maintain their defenses against mounting enemy pressure. In the “Eruption” scenario, the player has the command of a single Hyperion Dreadnought and a handful of defensive structures and must somehow hold out against enemy siege while trying to turn the tides of battle.
In another scenario, “Turtle Wars,” the player is faced with several indestructible factories that are mass producing swarms of frigates. In order to win, they must hold off against the enemy and take control of the factories before the rest of the army makes it through the mountains to finish them off. Kinda cool, huh?
“These new scenarios add a different type of challenge and call upon a certain playstyle,” said Wardell. “We know that players will enjoy trying something new and then comparing their scenario scores against others’ in our Hall of Fame.”
The Turtle Wars DLC is now available for purchase on Steam or through Stardock.
