Star Trek is 60
The original series went on the air in 1966. Sixty years later the idea is still in circulation: a crew, a ship, a frontier, and the argument that curiosity is a kind of courage.
A lot of that first company is gone.

They helped make a genre that outlived the network, the models, and the first set of discs. Science fiction television learned it could be weekly and still serious. Games followed that same ship into space — bridge crews, mods, conversions, whole other timelines built on someone else’s hull.
The Ultimate Universe lived in that slipstream. It was Star Trek: Legacy that opened up and rebuilt from this shop: more of the map, the Borg treated as a problem instead of a skin, a place for people who already knew the halls of those ships and wanted another pass. That work sits on this archive on purpose, next to the old forum and the years that started in 2006, so the daily news desk doesn’t bury it.
Star Trek’s 60th anniversary is a great time to say the names of the people who got the genre in the air, and to leave the game history where it can still be found, right here.
